The Fellowship is an umbrella organisation for those who are
Interested in Yoga to work together to:
• promote Yoga and its benefits
• train teachers
• aim to improve the standard of Yoga teaching
• provide Yoga classes in the community for all ages
It was started in 1977 in response to great demand to meet the needs
of the public. For more information see Yoga Classes.
The Yoga Fellowship is recognised by the Sport N.I. as the governing
body of Yoga in Northern
Ireland. Sport N.I. gives great
support to the Fellowship and helps us run Child Protection Seminars.
We are members of the Yoga Federation of Ireland, the British Wheel of
Yoga and the British Council for Yoga Therapy.
The Fellowship is run by a committee voted for at each Annual General
Meeting by its members.

There are two categories, teachers and ordinary members. The

members.
All members receive a magazine twice a year giving details of all our
Yoga events and providing interesting articles on Yoga and complementary
therapies.
There is a membership discount at our Yoga events.
We meet in the spirit of friendship, and at most events we have a
bring-and-share lunch!
